Vigil for Ukraine

"Vigil for Ukraine"
Wednesday, April 20, 5 pm
Skokie Village Green

Join the Niles Township Clergy Forum for a "Vigil for Ukraine" on Wednesday, April 20, at 5 p.m. at the Village Green, outside the Skokie Public Library, 5215 Oakton Street, Skokie.

US Representative Jan Schakowsky, Ukrainian Consul General Koledov Serhiy and Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen will offer remarks, as will other civic and religious leaders, including representatives of the local Ukrainian community.

The Niles Township Clergy Forum stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, including the many Ukrainians who are our friends, colleagues, and members of our congregations.

The Niles Township Clergy Forum has held peace vigils since 2017. " It's important to work for peace," said Pastor Timothy Biel, spiritual leader of Skokie Central United Methodist Church. "That work starts within each of us. In the silence of our prayer vigils,
I experience yet one more special way to cultivate peace within myself as we stand together in solidarity for peace in the world."

For more information, contact Rabbi Jeffrey Weill at Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation at 847 675-4141.
