On Tuesday, Sep 6, 2022 a Town Hall meeting was held in Palatine titled “Standing Up To America’s Adversaries: Defending Democracy.” Presentations by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorti (IL-8) and Professor Robert Pape (University of Chicago) focused on two countries that currently have their democracy under threat: Ukraine and Taiwan. During the meeting Congressman Krishnamoorthi stated: “Vladimir Putin’s brutal and unjust invasion of Ukraine is a prime example of the rising threat of authoritarianism that we must continue to fiercely push back against.
