DESCRIPTION:The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art is pleased to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence with the exhibition\, “Reality Check\,” curated by Adrienne Kochman\, one of North America’s foremost scholars of contemporary art of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora. \nFor Ukrainian professional artists\, the collapse of the Soviet Union created an opportunity to learn and engage with current artistic developments occurring in the west\, as well as delve into those of the past from which they had been excluded. “Reality Check” explores the work of eight contemporary artists affected by Ukraine’s 1991 independence: Lydia Bodnar-Balahutrak\, Anna Bogatin\, Yhelena & Michael Hall\, Roman Hrab\, Natalka Husar\, Yulia Pinkusevich\, and Valya. \n  \nOpening Reception: August 26\, 2016 \n6:00 pm-9:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Українське Незалежне Радіо та Український Інститут Модерного Мистецтва запрошує громаду на концерт Брії Блессінґ. \nUkrainian Independent Radio  and the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art invite you to a first time concert of Bria Blessing. Bria Blessing is known in Ukraine as “an American with Ukrainian soul.” She is a young and talented singer and musician who was born in Sugar Land\, Texas\, a Houston suburb. Her family moved to live in Ukraine when Bria was only 13 years old\, and for over 20 years she has been living\, working\, and performing in Lviv\, Ukraine.\nIn August of 2015\, this talented singer travelled to her native United States and Canada to give 12 charity concerts in support of victims of the war in Ukraine. She sings in both Ukrainian and English.
