At the very least, the Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took place in front of the cameras. Public displays of false friendliness, followed by behind-the-scenes treachery, would have posed an even greater danger to Ukraine’s cause.
Instead, Trump and Vance openly revealed their alignment with Russia and their hostility toward Ukraine—both its people and its president.
In response, thousands of people flooded downtown in protest, standing in unity to advocate for Ukraine and its defenders—people fighting not just for their own survival, but for the fundamental values the world must uphold. Ukrainians did not start this brutal war. They were forced from their homes—many of which no longer exist. Those who remained fight every day to protect their children, their families, and their future.
In Ukraine, the fear of going to bed and never waking up is terrifyingly real—when Russia unleashes 200 drones and countless missiles in a single night.
